PPG is one of the UK’s premier environmentally friendly printers, boasting ISO14001 and ISO9001 quality certifications and sustainable forest management certifications from the PEFC and FSC. Our working practices are under constant review and we are continually striving to reduce our impact on the environment, changing the way we think and changing the way we print.
So what does each certification actually mean to you or your client?
Being Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified means that we comply with the highest social and environmental standards on the market. Our Chain of Custody certification verifies that the paper we use comes from a well managed, certified forest where timber is logged legally and does not fund conflict.
The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) is the world’s largest forest certification system. Our Chain of Custody certification means that we can track the wood, wood fibre or non-wood forest produce contained in the final product back to certified forests.
With forests contributing to the livelihoods of 1.6 billion people worldwide, by choosing PPG Print, you are helping to:

ISO 14001 is a series of international standards on environmental management. It provides a framework for the development of an environmental management system and the supporting audit programme. As a fully certified member, our environmental policy sits right at the very heart of our business model which means we are able to offer unrivalled commitments to our clients, including:
- 100% alcohol free Komori presses. Many printers use Isopropyl alcohol in their presses which is toxic, flammable, expensive and causes a strong smell in the finished product. It also totally negates the benefit of using recycled paper!
- Water and chemical free ‘direct to plate’ systems which provide a more efficient alternative to traditional thermal plates, eliminating hazardous chemicals for more consistent imaging.
- Recycled paper stock sourced from fully sustainable forests.
- ISO14001 certified suppliers.
- We recycle printing plates, tins, rags, waste paper, shrink wrap and strapping.
- 100% use of vegetable based inks.
